Greyhouse Coffee & Supply Co.: the all-around Chauncey pick
Distance from Rambler: 9-minute walk
The original Greyhouse, at 100 Northwestern Ave., is the one most Purdue students know. Mia’s take: cute space, good drinks, good breakfast food and a fair price. Greyhouse was founded in 2008 by Campus House, a church community on Purdue’s campus, according to Greater Lafayette Commerce.
Vienna Espresso Bar & Bakery: a European-style menu in Chauncey
Distance from Rambler: 8-minute walk
Vienna, at 208 South St., has a darker, cozier feel than most shops near campus. With a chalkboard menu with hand-drawn illustrations and a European vibe and menu, the team had great things to say.
Go somewhere else if: you need space to spread out. Danielle says the tables sit close together.
Café Literato: the best place near campus for a long study session
Distance from Rambler: 8-minute drive
Café Literato, at 1920 Northwestern Ave., feels more like a restaurant than a coffee bar. That works in its favor when you’re settling in for hours, with lots of tables and little nooks to study in, plus a big food menu with breakfast paninis and brunch pizzas.
Go somewhere else if: you want a quick espresso and a quiet coffeehouse feel.
