If you’ve been looking into Rambler Riverfront, you’ve probably noticed that there are two buildings in the community. Which one should you live in? And what actually sets them apart?
The short answer: The West Building is leased by the bed, and the East Building is leased by the unit. But there are a few more differences worth knowing before you sign, from floor plan options to furniture to where the main amenities live.
Even though they have different addresses, both buildings are part of the same Rambler and offer residents a cohesive experience.
Here’s everything you need to know to pick the right one for you.
In this article, we’ll cover:
- The main difference between the West Building and the East Building
- Where each building is located
- Furniture and floor plan options in each building
- Amenity access across both buildings
- How to decide which building is right for you

What Is the Main Difference Between The West Building and The East Building?

The biggest difference comes down to how you lease.
West Building: Leased by the Bed
In the West Building, you sign an individual lease, which is a per-bed lease. You lease your own bed space, share the common areas with your roommates and only ever pay your own installments. If a roommate pays late, that’s on them, not you.
The West Building floor plans range from studios up to 5-bedroom apartments, and every unit comes fully furnished at no extra cost.
Rambler also offers roommate matching, so you can lease a bed in the West Building even if you’re coming in solo.
East Building: Leased by the Unit
In the East Building, you and your roommates lease the entire apartment together rather than signing for individual bed spaces.
East Building floor plans range from studios up to 3-bedroom townhomes. These units aren’t furnished by default, but you can opt for an optional furniture package.
If you already have your group locked in and you like the idea of a townhome layout, the East Building is worth a close look.
Where Is Each Building Located? Are They Connected?
The two buildings are just a few yards apart. They’re located at:
- West Building: 224 E. State St.
- East Building: 300 Brown St.
The buildings have individual addresses, so don’t worry, you won’t have to go far to get your Uber Eats or Amazon packages.
You can see the amenities in the West Building from the East Building and vice versa, so you’re never far from anything, no matter which side you call home.

What About Furniture? What Comes With My Unit?

West Building apartments come fully furnished. Every resident gets a full-size bed and mattress, two under-bed/stackable dresser drawers and a study desk with a desk chair. Living rooms come with a sofa, coffee table, entertainment stand and a wall-mounted Smart TV, and larger floor plans add barstools and accent chairs.
East Building units offer a furniture package for a monthly rate. If you’d rather bring your own furniture and make the space fully yours, the East Building gives you that flexibility. If you’d rather skip the U-Haul, add the package and move in with just your suitcase.
No matter which building you pick, your installment includes premium Wi-Fi, a full-size washer and dryer and a Smart TV in the living room.
Can I Use the Amenities in Both Buildings?
Yes! Every Rambler resident has access to the amenities in both buildings, whether you live in West or East. It’s all connected, all yours.
That said, the West Building is considered the main building. It’s home to:
- The main lobby (the larger of the two)
- The leasing office
- Daydreamer Cafe, our on-site coffee shop
- The club lounge and main shared common spaces
Living in the East Building doesn’t mean missing out. You’ll have full access to everything in the West Building, plus the amenity spaces in your own building. Check out the full amenities lineup to see what’s waiting for you.
Will the Two Buildings Feel Different?
No. Both buildings get the same Rambler treatment: the same design, the same energy and the same community feel throughout. One Rambler, two buildings, zero compromises.
No matter which one you pick, the experience is Rambler through and through.
Which Building Should I Choose?

It really comes down to how you want to lease and live:
- Choose the West Building if you want an individual per-bed lease, a fully furnished apartment, roommate matching or a larger floor plan (up to 5 bedrooms). It’s also the building with the main lobby, leasing office and Daydreamer Cafe right downstairs.
- Choose the East Building if you have your roommate group set, you want to lease the whole unit together, you love a townhome layout or you’d prefer to furnish the place yourself (with the option to add furniture for a monthly rate).
There’s no wrong answer here. Both buildings share the same design, the same community and full access to every amenity Rambler Riverfront has to offer.
Rambler Riverfront opens in Fall 2027, with leases running August 12, 2027 through July 31, 2028.
