Roommate matching is a service where the apartment pairs you with roommates, allowing you to sign for your own individual bed space without needing a roommate for the remaining rooms.
For example, if you sign for a spot in a four-bedroom layout, you don’t need to recruit three additional roommates yourself as Rambler Riverfront can handle that for you. Plus, with an individual lease, you’re not financially responsible for any empty rooms.
Roommate matching is extremely popular among Purdue students because it removes the pressure of finding roommates on your own and makes signing earlier leases much more accessible.

How am I assigned a roommate?
Some apartments or dorms assign roommates randomly but Rambler Riverfront takes a more thoughtful approach.
During your application, you’ll answer a set of lifestyle questions about topics such as allergies, cleanliness habits, sleep schedule, study preferences, pets and social tendencies.
These answers help us match you with roommates who share a similar lifestyle. That’s why it’s important to be honest when completing the questionnaire as accurate information gives us the best chance to make successful matches.
Rambler Riverfront also sends the form again before move-in to make sure your responses are still accurate. The more honest and detailed you are, the easier it is for us to match you with someone compatible.
While matches depend on the pool of residents at the time, we do everything we can to pair students with roommates who have the most in common, creating a smooth, enjoyable and stress-free living experience.
When will I find out who my roommates are?
Rambler Riverfront receives new compatibility forms continuously, so we adjust potential matches throughout the leasing season. This way, we have all potential pairing options available and are able to match you with your most compatible roommate. For this reason, roommate matches are not finalized until the property is fully leased.
For privacy reasons, we must wait to release roommate assignment and information until everything is 100% finalized. At the time of publication, we anticipate that roommate matching results will be released during the summer before move-in.
